Roy Gustav Rylander, 96, founder and former president of the Rylander Co. of Chicago, died Aug. 6 in Sun City, Ariz., where he had lived in recent years. Mr. Rylander was born in Galesburg, where he attended Lombard College. He then moved to the Chicago area, where he and his wife, Clara, lived in Riverside and Western Springs before retiring to Sun City. In 1928 he founded the Rylander Co., a direct-mail communications firm that also did its own printing. Mr. Rylander is survived by two daughters, Dorothy Johnson and Nancy Harris; five grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Aug. 29 in the First Congregational Church of Western Springs, 1106 Chestnut St., Western Springs.
