Robert J. Guskey, 64, formerly of Prospect Heights, who retired in 1974 as a volunteer firefighter with the rank of captain with the Prospect Heights Fire Department, died Friday in his Ripon, Wis., home. Mr. Guskey was a Chicago native. “He was very dedicated to the organization,” said Prospect Heights Fire Chief Donald Gould. “He was really into public education for the kids. He was a very dedicated volunteer.” Mr. Guskey served seven years with the department. Survivors include his wife, Margaret; a son, Robert V.; four daughters, Christine Ede, Pamela Ipsen, Monica Culver and Kathleen; 18 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Prayers will be said at 8:45 a.m. Tuesday in Countryside Funeral Home, 1640 Greenmeadows Blvd., Streamwood, then mass at 9:30 a.m. in St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Park Boulevard at Parkside Circle, Streamwood.
