Police said a 15-year-old boy was charged Aug. 27 with burglary when area residents allegedly saw him flee from the scene of a home theft in the 1200 block of Demmond Avenue. The youth allegedly broke into the home through a screened window and took gold jewelry, a compact disc case and a set of stereo headphones, they said.
