The Army has decided to move ahead in its case against a former two-star general who has been accused of adultery and other misconduct. In a statement released at the Pentagon Wednesday, the Army said the case of retired Maj. Gen. David Hale will be handed over to Army Gen. Thomas Schwartz, who serves as the head of U.S. Forces Command in Ft. McPherson, Ga., and is in charge of overseeing troops based in the United States. Hale retired in February after serving only four months as the Army’s deputy inspector general. Several investigations were launched after questions about his conduct appeared in published reports shortly thereafter. Schwartz will decide whether to punish Hale through administrative actions or call for a formal court martial.
