Samuel E. Kohler, 68, who worked for more than 30 years in Chicago as a human resources administrator, died Thursday in his Naperville home. Mr. Kohler was born in Alton, Ill. He studied engineering at the University of Oklahoma and then entered the Army, serving in the Korean War. In 1953, he began his career in labor relations. He started working at GATX Corp. in Chicago as an administrator of employee pensions and benefits. He stayed there for 35 years and then worked at Amoco in Chicago for two years before retiring. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Dorothy; four sons, Andrew, Samuel, Lloyd and Neil; three daughters, Gail Opsahl, Leslie Kohler and Susan Cook; and three grandchildren. Visitation will be from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday in Beidelman-Kunsch Funeral Home, 117 W. Van Buren St., Naperville. Services will be private.
