A 32-year-old Blue Island man was charged Saturday with failing to register as a sex offender with the Blue Island Police Department after moving to the town in 1996, said police. Jerome Burton of the 2100 block of West Vermont Street was arrested after he was stopped in the 14300 block of South Harlem Avenue in Palos Heights for driving with no front license plate. He was released on $5,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court Jan. 6, police said.
