Nominating petitions for three village trustee spots in the upcoming April election are available now at the Lake Villa Village Hall, it was announced at Wednesday night’s board meeting.
Of the three incumbents whose terms expire next year, only one has announced plans to seek re-election. Joyce Frayer said she would run for another term, Kenneth Lipski has said he is retiring and David Dykstra has not yet decided whether to run.
The positions pay $50 for each regular meeting and $30 for a committee meeting. Candidates must collect 22 signatures to appear on the ballot.
So far, four people have picked up petitions.
The petitions must be filed between Jan. 25 and Feb. 1.
