Space is still available for this year’s winter survival program from 9 a.m. to noon Friday.
Led by the McHenry County Conservation District, the program will teach participants how to look for wild edibles and build a fire without matches, along with other survival techniques.
The free program is for 7th graders to adults, said Susan Ladendorf, the district’s community relations coordinator. It will be held at the district’s Living Land Farm northeast of Cary.
