Residents interested in working for the passage of an April referendum request to finance a New Lenox Park District recreation center are invited to a meeting Tuesday at the Sanctuary Golf Course.
Friends of the Park, a steering committee formed to promote the passage of the referendum, is gearing up to present the case for a recreation center.
The recreation center, which would be financed with proceeds of an $11.2 million bond issue, would feature a large gym, an elevated track and activity rooms for dance, aerobics and gymnastics.
