Detroit extended its winning streak to a season-high seven games and goaltender Bill Ranford remained unbeaten since coming over in a March 23 trade.
Nicklas Lidstrom, Brendan Shanahan and Steve Yzerman scored for Detroit. Tomas Sandstrom and Matt Cullen scored for the Mighty Ducks.
Ranford, 5-18-3 for the season, has won both his starts since coming to Detroit as Chris Osgood’s backup in a trade with Tampa Bay.
All seven wins in the Detroit streak have come since Detroit acquired Chris Chelios, Wendel Clark, injured Ulf Samuelsson and Ranford.
