We should perhaps not be too shocked at the Colorado school massacre, because we are living a national triple recipe for such chaos. First, decades of mass media, which glorify violence and weapons. Second, the bizarre availability of guns, due partly to an absurd understanding of the 2nd Amendment. Third, the sad-but-true bent of humanity, which, as the old German catechism notes, is inclined by nature to hate both God and our neighbor.
Alas, the first two easily propel the third into concrete reality. Expect this triple recipe to produce continuing horror.
