The Cradle to Classroom program sounds like an excellent program that seems to be working (Page 1, May 12). Abstinence is certainly the ideal, but birth control or even abortion is better than kids having more kids. But one thing seems to be missing. These girls did not get pregnant by themselves. There needs to be a program teaching boys abstinence or birth control, and what it means to be a father. The boys get a girl pregnant then just walk away with no responsibility.
