– Ryan McNeil, who led the NFL with nine interceptions in 1997 but had none with Cleveland last season, has signed with the Dallas Cowboys.
By doing so, the cornerback accepted a big challenge: replacing Deion Sanders, who is expected to be released in June.
– The Detroit Lions have signed veteran quarterback Mike Tomczak to a two-year, $2.2 million contract, according to broadcast reports in Detroit and Pittsburgh. Detroit’s WDIV-TV also reported that Gus Frerotte, a Lions QB last year, has signed with Denver.
