Joint raids in McHenry by about 30 municipal and county police officers netted cocaine valued at $10,000 and ended in the arrest of five people, the McHenry County Sheriff’s Department announced Monday.
Police charged Marie A. Pilat, 36, with running a drug operation from homes on the 2700 block of Old Oak Drive and the 4200 block of Ponca Drive.
Around 4:30 p.m. Friday, the county’s tactical unit led simultaneous raids on the two homes, confiscating 74 grams of cocaine, a small amount of marijuana, money and other items, said Sgt. Anton Cundiff, head of the sheriff’s department’s narcotics unit.
Pilat was charged with possession of narcotics with intent to deliver, unlawful possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of cannabis with intent to deliver, unlawful possession of cannabis and criminal drug conspiracy. She was released Saturday from the McHenry County Jail after posting $20,000 bail.
Also arrested were Randall A. Jacobson, 34, of the 4200 block of Ponca, who is charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of cannabis with intent to deliver and possession of narcotics with intent to deliver. Jacobson was being held on $101,000 bond.
Authorities said both Jacobson and Pilat could face up to 30 years in prison if convicted.
Nancy Pilat, 32, of the 2700 block of Old Oak, is charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of cannabis. She was released Saturday after posting $1,000 bail.
Authorities said she faces up to 15 years in prison if convicted.
Sandra L. Meyer, 37, of Poplar Grove, Ill., was charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, unlawful possession of a controlled substance and criminal drug conspiracy. She was being held in the jail on $75,000 bond and faces up to 30 years in prison if convicted, authorities said.
Larry S. Kent, 51, of the 4200 block of Ponca, is charged with possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia. He was being held in the jail on $10,000 bond.
Authorities said he faces up to 3 years in prison if convicted.
Police said their investigation and the raids were based in part on information from local residents.
