Question: What’s the difference between .net and .com?
Both are top-level domain (TLD) names, and they’re supposed to tell you something about the group that runs that particular Web site. Some names, like .gov (government) and .edu (education), are obvious. Generally, .net is for some kind of organization that runs a network of connection services, and .com is a commercial organization. But because domain names aren’t regulated, these guidelines don’t always apply. For more info, go to www.icann.org.
