The inspiring musical production “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat” delivers a one-time performance Sunday at College of DuPage. The lively blend of musical styles, from rock to country to calypso, tells the story of Joseph and his brothers as they learn about loyalty and forgiveness. An American Eagle Production. The circus is coming to Triton. Triton College’s Children and Family Entertainment series presents the Triton Troupers Circus Friday and Saturday. Your whole family will love the circus performances. Hop on over to Community Park in Lisle Saturday morning for a traditional Easter egg hunt. Kids age 1 to 10, bring your baskets and get set to hunt for eggs. Young poets are invited to join the Arthur & the Poetry Contest program Sunday at Town House Books in St. Charles. In celebration of National Poetry Month, Town House Books will host a poetry contest during its monthly Clubhouse meeting for young readers. Celebrate the arts family-style as the Art Institute of Chicago hosts “Behind the Lions: Family Day” Saturday. Discover some of the museum’s treasures by playing the “Lion’s Trail.” See artist Tim Branson paint a self-portrait and then make your own portrait to take home. The performance of “Time Travelers: Heroes” will be presented at 12:30 and 1:30 p.m.. Special gallery walks of the exhibition “To Conserve a Legacy” will be at 11 a.m., 1 and 2 p.m. Amid all the performances and art activities, you can meet Artie the Lion. Kids will learn how comics are created during the “Fine Art Printing and the Sunday Comics” program at DuPage Children’s Museum. Children will learn how printers line up all the colors in the Sunday comics so they don’t overlap and blur. Participants will make a colorful print that lines up perfectly each time. $1 materials fee plus museum admission of $4.50 per person age 1 and up. 3 to 5 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday. Children can hunt for eggs along the banks of the Fox River. St. Charles Park District will hold its Easter egg hunt Saturday in Pottawatomie Park. Bring your baskets to participate in this fun and free event. The Easter Bunny will greet visitors. Meet at the entrance gate to River View Miniature Golf. Arrive 15 minutes early, as this hunt traditionally draws a crowd.
