The McHenry County state’s attorney’s office filed reckless homicide charges Friday against a Crystal Lake man who police say was drunk when his car struck and killed a pedestrian last week.

Andrew S. Ladd, 21, faces up to 14 years in prison if convicted. He originally was charged with misdemeanor driving under the influence after police said his 1991 Nissan pickup struck Reyes Soto Sanchez, 21, of Crystal Lake early April 8.
