Craig Stadler already had the shot of the tournament. He also got a share of the lead.

The day after he made the first double eagle of his career, Stadler shot a 3-under-par 69 Friday and shared a one-shot lead with Loren Roberts and Robert Allenby after 36 holes of the Houston Open.

The three were at 9-under 135 after two trips around the 7,019-yard TPC at The Woodlands course.Carlos Franco, the first-round co-leader, shot a 71 Friday and was at 136 with five others.

Bruno’s Memorial Classic: Defending champion Larry Nelson made a 12-foot eagle putt on No. 18 to cap a 6-under 66 for a one-stroke lead after the first round at Hoover, Ala.

LPGA Chick-fil-A Championship: Despite fading down the stretch, Karrie Webb shot a 4-under 68 in the opening round at Stockbridge, Ga., and lurked three shots behind leader Sophie Gustafson.

Spanish Open: Dean Robertson showed no effects from a stomach ailment that sidelined him for four months, shooting a 7-under 65 for a one-stroke lead at Girona, Spain.
