Evelyn E. Allard, 83, of Batavia died Saturday, May 20, in Delnor-Community Hospital in Geneva. Mrs. Allard was born in Aurora, where she attended area schools before moving to Batavia. She was employed by the Chicago Title and Trust Co. in Geneva as a secretary for several years before her retirement. “She really enjoyed working and actually retired twice from Chicago Title and Trust before she finally left for good,” said her daughter-in-law, Cathy Allard. Mrs. Allard was a member of the Women of the Moose in Batavia and was also very active at Holy Cross Church, where she was in the Altar and Rosary Society and Catholic Daughters and served as a Eucharistic minister, delivering Communion to retirement home residents and shut-ins. “She was especially attentive to serving the aged and those confined to their homes,” said her daughter-in-law. Other survivors include a son, John “Jack”; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, in Yurs-Peterson Funeral Home, 209 S. Batavia Ave., Batavia. Mass will be said at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Holy Cross Catholic Church, 2300 W. Main St., Batavia.
