Because we cannot post the 10 Commandments in the classroom, how about 10 Rules to be a Man? These would be directed at all drive-by shooters, gang-bangers, and other young men whose brains have been softened by testosterone or other assorted drugs.
These people know what the definition of a coward is, so I won’t bother to tell them. But they don’t know the rules. Maybe they weren’t taught any rules. Here are the rules we lived by way back in the old days; we should hold these people to these rules if they want our respect:
– You are a coward if you use a weapon.
– You are a coward if you hit anyone smaller than you.
– You are a coward if you hit anyone with glasses.
– You are a coward if you hit a girl.
– You are a coward if you hit any old person.
– You are a coward if you hit anyone younger than you.
– You are a coward if you steal.
– You are a coward if you can’t hold your temper; learn to control yourself! Only babies can’t control themselves.
– You are a coward if you constantly look for revenge.
– You are a coward if you don’t pay respect to your teacher.
