Getting organized in your new apartment needn’t require a big investment in equipment.
Here are some inexpensive home-management ideas:
Use ponytail holders to wrap appliance and computer cords.
Dishpans and ice cube bins–containers that hold ice cubes after they come out of the tray–make great containers for corralling items, from condiment jars to pan lids.
A plastic wastebasket kept in an inconspicuous spot is a good temporary holding place for toys you pick up throughout the day. At the end of the day, return the toys to the shelves.
Store game pieces in a parts cabinet from the hardware store.
Pocketed shoe organizers can store items such as vacuum cleaner attachments; cleaning supplies; blow dryers, curling irons and other hair supplies; and hats, scarves and mittens.
