Late blooms in pastoral settings will be stars of a tour through seven gardens Saturday. The gardens include features such as a lily-scaped pond, terraced hillside waterfall and raised-bed kitchen garden.
Orchards and woodlands also will be part of the walk.
The gardens are at private homes, from a 3-acre country retreat to 35-acre estate.
The Bull Valley Garden Club is organizing the walk. Proceeds will go toward horticulture scholarships, a garden therapy program at Valley-Hi Nursing Home in Woodstock and other community service programs.
Tickets are $10 in advance, $15 the day of the walk. To order by mail, make checks payable to the Bull Valley Garden Club, P.O. Box 176, Woodstock, IL 60098. Include your name, address and phone number. Tickets also will be available at Woodstock Farm and Lawn, 2020 S. Illinois Highway 47, and Deer Run Golf Center, 11007 Illinois Highway 120, both in Woodstock.
Maps to tour sites will be provided. Call 815-337-2095.
