Two men who appeared to be in their early 20s held up two men at gunpoint about 5:55 a.m. Monday in the lot of McDonald’s, 2250 W. Higgins Rd. A 77-year-old South Barrington man was sitting in his car when one man banged on his window with a handgun and the other man demanded money. The victim gave the men his wallet containing $90 and the men briefly left the area. A few minutes later the robbers returned, pointed the gun at a 23-year-old Carpentersville man outside the restaurant and demanded that he open the door, police said. Both men fled in the direction of Governors Lane. Police said they did not know what prompted the robbers to leave.
