Firefighters extinguished a fire Sunday that destroyed a vehicle valued at $8,000 in the 200 block of South Lincoln Avenue, authorities said. The fire may have started after the parked vehicle’s owner, a 21-year-old Streamwood man, fell asleep inside and inadvertently raced the engine with his foot, authorities said.
