A 46-year-old Chicago man told police Tuesday that he was robbed at knifepoint while he was using a pay phone near Burger King, 620 W. North Ave. Police said the man had finished working at the Odeum Sports and Expo Center in Villa Park and was facing the phone when a car described as a bright red older model Chevrolet Monte Carlo pulled up behind him. A man in the front passenger seat asked if he would be using the phone for a longer period of time. The man replied that he would be finished in a minute and when he turned to face the car with three men inside, the man in the front passenger seat held a knife up and told him to give up his money. The man then handed over $300 and the vehicle drove south through the parking and left the area, police said.
