Bernard P. “Mickey” Sullivan, 57, of Scotia, NY, formerly of Windsor Locks, CT and Chicago, IL, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, Oct. 5 at Middlesex Hospital in Middletown, CT. He passed away after a year long battle with cancer, which he bravely fought with his wife and family by his side. “Mickey” was born March 26, 1933 and raised on Lockwood Ave. in Chicago by his late parents, Bernard and Hazel, nee Keating, Sullivan. There he met Mary “Betty” Sullivan, nee Higgins, his all time love and devoted wife of 45 years. Together they shared a love so strong it will last for eternity. They lovingly raised four children, Michael (Susan) Sullivan of Carbondale, IL, Terri (Stephen) Kinney of Old Saybrook, CT, Patrick (Julie) Sullivan of Providence, RI and Meagan (Robert) McDonough of Wauconda, IL. Mickey was the oldest brother of Daniel (June) Sullivan, the late Thomas Sullivan and the late Kathleen Sullivan-Jerstad. Also grieving are his grandchildren, Bryan, Liam and John Sullivan, John “Jack” and Ryann Kinney, Kathleen “Katie”, Samantha, Margaret and Michael Sullivan and Erin and Michael McDonough. Mickey was also the beloved uncle and great-uncle of Michele (Scott), Jackson and Hunter Wolf, Daniel (Stephanie) Sullivan and Shannon (Troy), Matthew, Kaitlin and Nicholas Johnson. Mickey was a retired employee of United Airlines where he had worked since 1959. Mickey loved to travel and spend time in the sun, but most of all his life revolved around spending quality time with his family. He will be very much missed by all. Visitation will be Sunday, Oct. 8, 2000, 3 to 9 p.m. at Geils Funeral Home, 180 S. York St., Bensenville, IL. Funeral Services will begin at 9 a.m. Monday, Oct. 9, 2000 at Geils Funeral Home followed by a Catholic Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Charles Borromeo Church, 145 E. Grand Ave., Bensenville, IL. His family will lay him to rest by a graveside burial at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside. Info, 630-766-3232 .
