– I know that Adrian Pasdar, who is now on “Mysterious Ways,” used to be on another TV series. Can you tell me what it was?
He had the title role in “Profit,” a short-lived but wonderfully unique Fox series about a ruthless young businessman with a very troubled background. He lived in a box and perfected the art of manipulation. Pasdar has had a great year. Besides finding success with “Mysterious Ways” (first on NBC, then on PAX), he married Natalie Maines of music’s Dixie Chicks, and they’re now expecting their first child.
– What is “Nightline,” which is mentioned often on Peter Jennings’ newscasts? What network is it on and at what time?
This might seem an amusing query to those who are very familiar with “Nightline,” but there still are areas where the program is pre-empted in favor of shows, comedy repeats, for instance, that give some stations a higher return on revenue for local ads. “Nightline” is the much-honored, Ted Koppel-anchored ABC News program that takes an in-depth look at a news story of the day. In most markets that carry it, it runs right after the late local news and before “Politically Incorrect With Bill Maher.”
