I am writing about the special Chicago Marathon section in the Oct. 23 edition. Why did you feel it appropriate to have a large photo of the male winner and a small photo of the female winner? Why did you print the names of the female finishers in a font smaller than that of the one used for the male finishers? This bothers me because the female runners worked as hard as the male runners. I know this first hand because my wife and I ran the race. We trained together, we sweated together, we felt the pain together, we both finished and are proud of our accomplishment.
Given the hard work everyone put in to this race, male and female finishers deserve equal coverage. Not much to ask but important nonetheless.
