Adolph F. Wiater, beloved husband of the late Janet, nee Dzieniszewski; loving father of Robert (Barbara) and Veronica (Floyd) Walton; dear grandfather of Susan and David Wiater and Adam, Stacey and Robert Walton; fond brother of Stella Wiater, Marian Grochowski and Martha Sonntag; brother-in-law of Mary Wiater; uncle of many nieces and nephews. In the early 1930’s, was the light heavyweight Golden Gloves Champion in Chicago and New York. On Sept. 26, 1934 fought Joe Lewis, 10 rounds, losing by decision, 52-48. Was also an accomplished wood carver. Funeral Friday 10 a.m. from Kolbus Funeral Home, 6841-57 W. Higgins Ave., to Our Lady Mother of the Church. Mass 10:30 a.m. Interment St. Adalbert Cemetery.
