Harold E. “Bud” Spinney Jr., 91, beloved husband of the late Virginia Tiss; devoted father of Bonnie S. (George) Cerveny, David A. (Jennifer) Spinney, Kim V.D. Spinney and Lynne S. (Dennis) Swieton; loving grandfather of Gretchen, Heidi, Lisa, Britain, John, Scott,Melissa and Stephen; dear great-grandfather of Croix; adoring brother of Jane S. (Peter) Allen. Bud was born in Chicago, IL and was a 1927 graduate of New Trier High School and graduated from Lafayette University in 1931. He began his career as a third generation Chicago Board of Trade member in 1931. In 1944 he was commissioned as a lieutenant in the Navy and served in the Pacific Theater during WWII. After the war he returned to the Chicago Board of Trade where he completed his 56 year career in 1986. He was the founding Scoutmaster of Boy Scout Troop 2 in Wilmette in 1931 and Troop 222 in Round Lake in 1950. Bud was a lifelong volunteer in the Boy Scouts of America and served on the Round Lake School Board in the 1960’s. Funeral Service Saturday, Jan. 13, 2001 at 1 p.m. at Memorial Park Mausoleum, Main Chapel, 9900 Gross Point Rd., Skokie.
