Vera G. Hendricks, 81, of Arlington Heights, retired in 1984 as an executive secretary at the former GAF Co., Chicago, distributors of photographic supplies, after 10 years of service. Miss Hendricks was previously an executive secretary for the former Madigans department store, Chicago, for more than 20 years. Miss Hendricks died Wednesday, Jan. 10, in ManorCare Health Services, Rolling Meadows. Her longtime friend Geraldine Helwedge said: “She spent her whole life taking care of her mother [the late Grace Hendricks]. She was always very happy in her job. That was her life. She was a good friend. You could always rely on her. She was sympathetic.” A visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, when a service will begin in Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, 1111 N. Elmhurst Rd., Prospect Heights.
