Dr. Martha J. Bernheim, age 102, a well known and respected obstetriciangynecologist who practiced from 1928 until 1984 and who assisted in over 2500 births in the Chicago area, died peacefully at the University of Chicago Hospital on January 12, 2001. She received her M.D. (with honors) in 1928 from Chicago Women’s Lying In-now known as the University of Chicago Hospitals. She is survived by her cousin, Luce Klein and other relatives and dear friends. Services Tuesday, January 16, 2001, 10 a.m., at Oakwoods Cemetery, 1035 E. 67th St., Chicago.
