Gertrude (David) Mistretta, nee Stryzinski, formerly of Elmira, passed away January 9, 2001. Survived by daughter and son-in-law Patricia and Raymond Tanner; son and daughter-in-law John Michael and Patricia (McPherson) David of Byron, GA; 10 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law Lillian “Kadz” and Luther Cicora, Elmira; sisters-in-law; many nieces and nephews; pre-deceased by husbands George “Toof” David and John Mistretta; son-in-law Chuck Palm. Memorial contributions may be made to Dr. Sharon Murphy #30, Division of Oncology and Hematology, Children’s Memorial Hospital, 707 W. Fullerton Ave., Chicago, IL. Gert was a member of St. Hilary’s Church, Chicago and belonged to its’ Women’s Club. Family will receive relatives and friends at the Kalec Funeral Home, 705 E. Church St., Elmira, NY 14901, Sunday, January 14, 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Prayer service there Monday at 8:45 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in St. Casimir’s Church. Interment will follow in SS. Peter and Paul’s Cemetery, Elmira. A memorial service to be held at a later date in Chicago.
