Jeanette Porter, 87, formerly of Lansing, passed away Jan. 16, 2001, loving mother of Calvin, of Oak Lawn, Joanne Lagestee of Lansing, Frank (Linda) of Lakeland, FL, George (Charlotte) of Lansing, David of Chicago Heights, Helen (Carl) Bussema of Lansing and Wilma (Greg) Lange of Warsaw, IN; numerous grandchildren and greatgrandchildren; loving sister of Gertrude DeGroot of South Carolina, Martha Vander Woude of Merrillville, IN, Pearl Kreykes of Lansing and Georgia Jonkman of Maryland; sisters-in-law, Jewel Vander Weit of Lansing, Dorothy Folger, of Arizona; brothers-in-law Rev. James Bultman of Michigan and Walter (Jean) Porter of Wisconsin; preceded in death by husband Frank, who passed away in 1977, son Paul and daughter Ruth, sisters Catherine Vander Weit, Frieda Smithhart, Alida Bultman and brothers Abram and Frederick Vander Weit. Funeral service will be held Saturday, January 20, 11 a.m. at Oak Glen United Reformed Church, 2244 Indiana Ave., Lansing, with Reverend Paul Ipema, officiating. Burial Oak Ridge Cemetery, Lansing. Visitation Friday, 2 to 9 p.m. at Schroeder-Lauer Funeral Home, 3227 Ridge Rd., Lansing. Member of Oak Glen United Reformed Church of Lansing.
