I am moved to write a postscript to Pauline Dubkin Yearwood’s Jan. 7 letter, “Cold animals.”
A stray male cat (perhaps the offspring of a stray) entered my domain in April. It took months to gain his trust, but by late October, he agreed to spend the winter with me. Strays need little acculturation to indoor living, I learned.
My plan is to have him neutered before wanderlust sets in, which will not only cut down on reproduction but may also convince him to extend his stay.
