The cover story concerning Chauncey Lester, the school bus driver who averted a tragedy, should serve as an important reminder to all of us.
First, we don’t need to look to sports stars or media celebrities to find our heroes because they are right here in our everyday lives. Second, we all need to exercise patience when following school buses. There have been times when I have wondered why I was so unlucky to end up behind a school bus near a railroad crossing. This incident shows the importance of their drivers’ procedures (e.g. stopping at all railroad crossings). My attitude is going to change in the future.
