Jennie Carroll, nee Provenzano, 69, of Thornton, IL and Magician Lake, Sister Lake, MI and formerly of Grand Crossing, IL died at 3:10 p.m., Tuesday in Northwest Memorial Hospital, Chicago after a brief illness. Jennie worked in the banking industry for South Holland Trust & Savings Bank, South Holland, IL for 22 years. She was born August 19, 1931 in Chicago, IL to Joseph Provenzano and Mary Caputo who preceded her in death. On Sept. 30, 1950 in St. Lawrence Catholic Church, Chicago, Jennie married Emmett Francis Carroll who died August 21, 1998. Surviving children are Rosemarie (John) Bova of Palos Heights, IL, Margaret (Edward) Gricus of Thornton, IL, Daniel E. (Judith) Carroll of Phoenix, AZ, Sue Ellen (Thomas L. III) Hickey of South Bend, IN and Patricia (David) Aversa of Milwaukee, WI; and grandmother of 14. Surviving sisters are Theresa (Warren) Hauff of Las Vegas, NV, Connie Cochrane of Midlothian, IL, Dorothy (Don) Zakrzewski of Tinley Park, IL; and brothers, Ralph (Lou) Provenzano of Oak Lawn, IL and Carmen (Barbara) Provenzano of Oak Lawn, IL. Her brothers, Joseph (Barb) and August (Theresa) Provenzano preceded Jennie in death. Mass 10 a.m., Friday (Chicago time) January 26 at Holy Ghost Catholic Church, 700 E. 170th St., South Holland, IL with Rev. Eamon R. Carroll, O’Carm, brother-in-law, officiating, and Rev. Bernard Pietrzak of St. Raymonds Catholic Church, Mt. Prospect, IL concelebrating. Interment 4:30 p.m. (South Bend time), Sacred Heart of Mary Catholic Cemetery, Sister Lakes, MI.
