Herbert L. Rigdon, 83, a retired steel worker of more than 30 years, spending time in the Navy during WWII, died Tuesday, January 23rd at Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield, IL. Herb was a life-long Cubs and Bears Fan. During his retirement he enjoyed woodworking, cooking, candy making and keeping company with his grandchildren and kitties. He is survived by Jane, his wife of 56 years; he was the devoted father of Kathy (Jose) Mendez, Mike (Tina) and Lori (Jim) DeMarke; loving grandfather of Joe, Lisa, Sara, Christa, Julia, Lauren, Katie, Daniel and Kevin; brother of Robert M. Rigdon of Springfield; many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends; He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother; and two sisters. Visitation Saturday, 9 a.m. until time of Service 1 p.m. at Brust Funeral Home, 415 N. Gary Ave., Carol Stream. Interment Private.
