Louise Antoinette Henriksen, nee Mattson, born April 11, 1909 in Brookston, MN, a woman of singular beauty and joy, gently left this world to reunite with loved ones in a better world on January 23, 2001. A gifted artist with a love of nature and all God’s blessings, which she passed on to her many loved ones. Louise is predeceased by her husband of many years, Chester Otto Henriksen, daughters, Mary Anne and Marilyn Louise Skinner, son Edward B. Henriksen, as well as several grandchildren and first husband Albert Foote. She looked forward to reuniting with her parents and sisters and brother. Louise raised her seven children with love, good humor, respect, delight and an occasional aspirin. She was active in her community and church in West Chicago, LaGrange and Lake Zurich, the three towns she mainly resided in through the years and also Captiva Island, FL, where she and C.O. retired in the early 1960’s. In her last years, she lived with daughter Sonja and family in Lombard and more recently near daughter Nancy in Ft. Madison, IA. She spent many winters in Florida helping daughter Marcia raise her family. Louise was fortunate to travel frequently and see so many wonders of this world and experience so many wondrous things. Louise leaves behind her beloved little sister Amy Strubing and her husband Bob, who took her on so many trips and her surviving children Barbara Shelton (Marvin) Sikeston, MO, Chester Otto II (Jean), Mena, AK, Nancy Nelson, Ft. Madison, IA, Sonja Seger (Bob) Lombard, IL, Marcia Stice (Bill Lawler) Tampa, FL; and all their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and friends. Louise left a legacy of love and her joyous view of the world through her art and poetry and the unforgettable gentleness of her smile. She warmed the hearts of all who knew her and will never be forgotten. Visitation will be Sunday, Jan. 28, 2001 4 to 9 p.m. at Steuerle Funeral Home, 350 S. Ardmore Ave., Villa Park.
