Henry J. Horney, age 80, 50 year resident of Dolton, IL, beloved husband of Marion, nee Beringer; devoted father of Jim (Marge), Tom (Mary), Ned (Doreen), Ray (Debbie), Gene (Karen), Carol (J.R.) Kaufmann, Penny Sue and Paul (Tammy); loving grandfather of nine; dear brother of Everett (Beverly) and Edith (Ray) Newman; fond uncle of many. He founded Horney’s Dime Store which later became Dolton Value Village. He was an original founder of New Hope School, Dolton. Mr. Horney will be remembered for his energy, intelligence and courage in the business world. He retired on Sunday, January 28, 2001. Visitation Wednesday, 2 to 9 p.m. at Drumm Funeral Home, 1200 E. 162nd St. (one block west of Calumet Expressway on U.S. 6, 159th Street) where funeral services will be held on Thursday, 10:30 a.m. Interment private.
