Evergreen Plaza’s action in closing down the senior Mall Walker Program is not just tacky and discourteous, it’s ungrateful (Page 1, March 1). That program was started in the 1980s partly as a way to offset the bad publicity the mall was getting at the time because of crime and gang activity. Now that the seniors have given the mall what it needed, they are expendable.
