This refers to your March 9 editorial “China and the 2008 Olympics,” in which you suggest that Beijing should be considered for hosting the Olympics. The policy of engagement needs to be modified by putting a condition that if the Chinese government does not improve the human-rights conditions within a specified time, and stop aiding renegade countries in building nuclear arms, sanctions may be imposed on them, and denying the Olympic games will be one of them.
