Two days after the terrorist attacks I was driving in my suburban neighborhood when a teenager peeled out of a side-street in his sports car and almost hit me.

As I honked to get his attention, he looked right at me, gave me the finger and yelled a profanity out the window.

Normally this would have barely affected me.

But on this day, I pulled over and cried.

How is our country supposed to overcome the extreme hatred of other nations when Americans themselves can’t even treat each other with common decency?
