Frieda O. Koecher, 86, of Schaumburg died Monday, Sept. 17, in Friendship Village in Schaumburg. The Chicago native was a homemaker and a longtime volunteer at Elmwood Park Bible Church, where she assisted in preparing Communion and cooked weekly meals for seniors. “She was concerned for people,” said her daughter Nancy Trussell, who added that her mother also sewed and crocheted clothing for her family and church. Other survivors include a son, Henry; another daughter, Linda Hey; a sister, Elsie Abraham; a brother, Alfred Huebner; nine grandchildren; and 37 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m. until the time of services at noon Friday in Yurs Funeral Home, 405 E. Main St., St. Charles.
