Bill Ayers’ self-serving letter to the editor (Voice of the people, Sept. 23) is just another rationalization for his life of crime, anti-democratic tendencies and arrogance. But he leaves out the truth.
In his book, Mr. Ayers boasts about his bombings. This puts him in good company with Osama bin Laden, the only difference being that Mr. Ayers’ bombs (luckily) did not kill people, except other Weatherman terrorists.
When his group could not dictate to the majority of the members of Students for a Democratic Society (SDS), they bolted from SDS and turned to violence as a means for their ends.
Mr. Ayers does not regret any of his past behavior and intends to make a profit on his book. Has he no sense of shame or decency?
