Deion Sanders Jr., 7, was recently penalized for doing an end-zone dance after scoring a touchdown in a youth-league game.
Said his famous father: “He got a quick pitch, cut right, cut back against the grain. And, when he got like three yards ahead, he started high-stepping, and then they threw a flag on him. I created that. Why you gotta throw a flag? He’s doing what Daddy taught him to do.”
A first for Holtz
Tired South Carolina players looked as if they needed time off after they lost 54-17 to Florida on Saturday. Coach Lou Holtz obliged the Gamecocks with a football-free Monday.
“I just told them to get away from it,” Holtz said. “I’ve never done that, but I just felt our football players really need it. They just need to get away.”
No. 22 South Carolina (7-3) closes the regular season as it does each year against state rival Clemson (5-4).
Say what?
`It gave us no incentive to put on a good show.’
