Nicholas “Nick” Dolgach, 66, of Hanover Park, a retired electronic parts salesman, died of complications from leukemia Saturday, March 16, in Alexian Brothers Medical Center in Elk Grove Village. Born in Whitestone, N.Y., Mr. Dolgach served two years in the Navy stationed in Jacksonville and returned to his hometown where he managed A&P grocery store in the late 1950s. Mr. Dolgach then moved to Levittown, N.Y., where he began his sales career with several electronics companies, including Hall-Mark Electronics, a parts supplier for transformers. He was transferred to the company’s office in Bensenville in 1975, where he continued working in inside sales until the early 1990s. “He was a real ham,” recalled his daughter-in-law Kelly Dolgach, who added that her father-in-law would often visit his grandchildren at the Hanover Park District preschool. “At Halloween, he would come in as a clown. … The kids really enjoyed having him there.” Other survivors include his wife of 44 years, Sheila; sons Joseph, Timothy and David; and 11 grandchildren. Prayers will be said at 9:15 a.m. Tuesday in Martin’s Funeral Home, 333 S. Roselle Rd., Roselle. A mass will follow at 10 a.m. in St. Marcelline Catholic Church, 822 S. Springinsguth Rd., Schaumburg.
