Father Kenny Lynch, C.P., 91, of the Passionist Community, passed away Tuesday, April 16, 2002, loving son of the late Peter and Mary Lynch, nee Murphy; loving brother of seven brothers and sisters. Father Lynch was ordained in May, 1937 and served as Chaplain for the 3rd Armored Division in Europe from 1942 to 1946, and was awarded the Silver Star for heroism. Father served in Passionist missions in Missouri, Ohio, California, Kentucky, Alabama and Michigan, and returned to the military from 1951 to 1966. In 1997, Father was assigned to the Passionist Retirement Center in Chicago. A dedicated Passionist religious and priest, Father Kenny was a loyal member of the Lynch Clan, a devoted military Chaplain and treasured all things Irish. Wake Service Wednesday 3:30 p.m. at the Passionist Monastery, 5700 N. Harlem Ave., Chicago. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated Thursday 11:30 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church, Harlem and Talcott Avenues, Chicago. Interment Saturday in the Passionist Monastery Cemetery in Louisville, KY.
