Sheila M. Savala-Broderick, 38, of Marengo, a truck driver, died Sunday, April 14, of injuries she suffered in a single-car accident in Marengo. Born in Elgin and raised in Streamwood, she graduated from Streamwood High School. In the early ’90s, Ms. Savala-Broderick decided she wanted to be a truck driver, said her sister Debra Broderick. She went to trucking school and joined Plote Construction Co. in Elgin. She delivered road construction equipment for the company. “She was a free spirit and a risk-taker,” said her sister. Ms. Savala-Broderick loved being outdoors, fishing, camping and riding motorcycles, her sister added. “She was kind and generous and loved everyone,” she said. Other survivors include three daughters, Nicole Villarreal, and Anna and Jessica Roberts; her mother, Joan; nine sisters, Ann-Marie Brewer, Kathleen Schultz, Noreen Lopez, Geri Lynn Composano, Dawnine Villarreal, Mary Broderick, Linda Broderick, Theresa Broderick and Lori Broderick; and a brother, Timothy Broderick. Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in Martin Funeral Home, 333 S. Roselle Rd., Roselle. Prayers will be said at 9:15 a.m. Thursday in the funeral home. Mass will be said at 10 a.m. in Roman Catholic Church of St. Walter, 117 W. Maple Ave., Roselle.
