Donald Rush Hartman, 81, 54 year resident of Arlington Heights, beloved husband of the late Marie L., nee Theier; loving father of Thomas V. (Marlene) Hartman; cherished grandfather of Debbie Krask and Tom (Lynann) Hartman; great-grandfather of Tanner; dear brother of Esther (late Marion) Hamilton, Samuel (Betsy) Hartman, Barbara (Dr. Bernard) Moore, Robert (Phyllis) Hartman, Nancy (late Ret. Col. Jerry) Crist and Richard (Dean) Hartman; fond uncle of many nieces and nephews including Lawrence (Linda) Swartz, Sharon (Tim) Halas and Susan (Bruce) Tenuta; he was preceded in death by his parents Harold and Maude, nee Rush, Hartman. Visitation Thursday, 3 to 9 p.m., at Lauterburg & Oehler Funeral Home, 2000 E. Northwest Hwy., Arlington Heights. Funeral Friday, 10:15 a.m., from funeral home to St. James Church, 831 N. Arlington Heights Rd., Arlington Heights. Mass 11 a.m. Entombment Memory Gardens Mausoleum. Mr. Hartman was a Funeral Director for 50 years at Lauterburg & Oehler Funeral Home, having retired in 1998. He was a member of the Arlington Heights Chamber of Commerce and served as President in 1957. He was also a member of the Lions Club, the Arlington Heights Elks Club, the National Funeral Directors Association and the Illinois Funeral Directors Association. He was formerly very active in the Kiwanis Club. Mr. Hartman was also named Arlington Heights Citizen of the Year in 1990. A veteran, he served in the Army during WWII and was a Purple Heart recipient. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Maryville Academy, 1150 N. River Rd., Des Plaines, IL 60016.
